Shakeira's 12th Friends Birthday Party :)
Today we had a few of Shakeira's friends over to celebrate her birthday. She had her friends Myki, DJ, Kiara, and then my friends, Sharhonda, Dantrelle, and Durand(Dantrelle's hubby). We had Little Caesar's pizza, and then my good friend Amy made her birthday cake. It was very cute. She got lots of nice things from her friends. I appreciated those that came and helped her celebrate her birthday

In-between time :)
Wow, it just seems like yesterday that I wrote on here, but it's been so much longer. Time usually feels like it is going pretty fast, but there are days when it drags. So much has happened. We celebrated fastnacht day, and made doughnuts
We went with some of our friends to the zoo. We had a lot of fun. It is way awesome to have the zoo within 15 minutes of us. We will be spending a lot of time there :)
We spent some time at the beach with their Uncle Aaron
We had a blast picking organic Strawberries, and eating them was even more fun. Cannot wait to go pick more and make some freezer jam!!!!
One of my most favorite times is the few times I have been able to actually Skype with Eric. They are few, and far between, but are treasured. The second to last time we Skyped, I realized that I could snap pictures of him with my computer. Oh the fun I had just snapping pictures. At first he didn't realize it, but started hearing the clicking sound of my computer. I kept playing it off like I didn't know he was talking about. I then warned him that something might pop up on facebook of him :) He just started laughing. Then this is what I put up:

1st month down!!!!
It has been awhile since I have posted on here. A lot has happened since I was last on. We went threw a lose, but things are better now. Going threw it, made me value the love I have for my hubby.
I must say, this has been a very fast month. It feels like Eric just left yesterday, even though I know that he left over a month ago. So, what all have we done since the last time I blogged.
Well, I finally was able to get all 3 children into their correct school. It took over a month and a half for this to happen. They wouldn't let me enroll them until they had a physical. Shae had a big change with school this year, 6th grade out here is in the Middle School. She was way excited to be going to middle school now. The boys are now in 2 different schools. It has been really nice having them back in school.
February was a rough month for us, right before I was able to get the children into school, I had a miscarriage. It was difficult to have one without Eric or my family here. His brother and his wife were fantastic, as were the friends I have made out here. To remember our child that we lost, I got this necklace:
I am thankful for the knowledge that I have in my church, that we will one day be able to raise our baby one day. I know that this wasn't the right time for our family.
We celebrated Fastnacht day this year :) It was so much fun. The children and I made my Grandma Clements spudnut recipe. My favorite recipe :)
I have been getting into a lot of new opportunities, I currently am selling Scentsy, Miche, and Dove Chocolate.
Scentsy is a wireless candle, and the company just started a new line called Layers. This is Body and Laundry care. I love selling it, and have already received a commission for selling it. I love the fact that it doesn't where my clients are at, because it gives you the opportunity to order online. Miche are bags. They are really cool, you buy a base bag, and then you can buy different shells to create a new look with the different purses that you can buy. If you are curious about what Miche bags are or look like, please visit my website at:
What more can I say about Dove Chocolate :) Who doesn't love Chocolate. The only thing that isn't as nice as the other 2, is that they are still working on getting the online ordering going. If you happen to be in the VA area, then you can host a party. I will let everyone know when they get the online ordering up and running.
Eric is doing okay. I get the opportunity to talk to him almost everyday, whether it be facebook, skype, phone calls, or email. I love him, and grateful for his service to our country.
We are hoping to go to the zoo next week, so more to come :)

Survived 1st week of Deployment
The first week of Deployment is done. It went a lot better than I expected. The children were good for the most part. There were issues some of the week, but with the help of their Uncle, the issues were settled. It also helped that I was able to talk to Eric every day this week, except Monday. We have talked on Facebook everyday, and I have talked or tried talking to him about 4 times. He is currently working the night shift, and works 12 hour days. I love to talk to him before I go to bed so I can tell him good night.
I am very proud of my husband, and all the other service men and women that are aboard the Arleigh Burke. I know that they are out serving our country and making it a safer place for us to live in.

January 30, 2012 D-Day!!
Well, today was a very emotional day. We left the house at 6am, and drove to the Naval Base. Boy was the traffic busy. When we finally got to the pier the Arleigh Burke was at, I dropped Eric off, and went and parked. We waited while he went to his quarters, and put his things in there, and change into his uniform. While we were sitting there, I was looking around, and seeing others as they came and went, and the families that were there to support their loved ones.
When Eric finally got done, and came and got us, I wasn't sure if I was ready. When I got out of the van, we went towards the ship. He showed his ID to get us past the gate, and in we went. He showed us around the ship. I remember going down 2, I'm going to call them ladders. Man, as I was going down, the door to close it up was very close, and the stairs were very narrow. I think I hit my head overtime we either went up or down the ladders. I am sure Eric hits his head many times, but I am sure by now he is use to them.
He showed us where he works, and introduced me to i think his title is LS2, but don't quote me on that :), still trying to get used to the lingo of the Navy. We went all over the ship. He even took us top side, and we got to see what it was like. We finally ended up in the mess hall, they call it called something else, but I forget. We sat there and just talked. The whole time, Shae was saying that she was going to stow away with Eric, and go with him. I said, I wanted to Stow away until they got to Spain, and then I would be ok to go back to the children.
Finally they called over the loud speaker for all civilians to depart the ship. We said our goodbyes on the ship, because it was already hard to leave. He gave each of the children hugs and kisses, and told them they needed to mind their mother. Then, he gave me a hug and some kisses, and then he told me it was my command.
We then went to an area, where other families were waiting for the send off. About 45 minutes into our waiting, I was approached by a news station man. He asked if it was ok to interview our family. I said sure. He then started asking me questions, was this his first deployment - yes it was. How do we feel about him being gone for so long - we are kinda use to it. We have only been married since September, and were separated for the first 3 months of our marriage, so this was nothing. The children this whole time were just saying how they loved Eric, and they will miss him, and they were proud of him. He then asked me something about how I felt about today, and it finally being the time for them to leave. I said:
"For me it's a happy day. For the sooner he goes out to sea, the sooner he can be back."
When we watched the news that night, when they started the segment, they showed our family just talking and waiting, then they talked to a husband and his child. then they showed the ship, and talked to one of the guys in charge of the Arleigh Burke. Finally, they showed me. They ended the segment, with me saying, "For me it's a happy day. For the sooner he goes out to sea, the sooner he can be back. "
The rest of the day was pretty surreal. My brother in law got us lunch at Sonic, and then the rest of the day was just us spending time together and thinking of Eric.

Our first taste of the VA Beaches!!!!!
How our family loves the beach!!! My children are so excited to live only 15 minutes from the house. And even more excited about how close we are to the airport, as you can see from the pictures:
